Welcome to my website, where I am thrilled to share my passion for Pilates and movement!
I've been in love nutrition and sport my whole life and entered the world of wellness in 2010 when I qualified as a Nutritional Therapist. However, this took a back seat to my corporate career, but it continued to be a passion. While I furthered my career in the corporate world, I put my knowledge to good use and have been educating my children daily on the benefits of good nutrition as I know it has a direct influence on their well-being. They still have ice cream, just not as often as they would like!
I started Pilates over 6 years ago because I'd been troubled with neck problems stemming from a job which involved either sitting at a desk or driving a car and I thought it may help. It did help but it also exposed me to a whole other level of awareness and enthusiasm, not only helping me understand the anatomical reasons for my neck pain but also highlighting other areas of my body that were 'mis-aligned'.
While I was on a career break raising a young family I decided to turn my love for Pilates into a career and became a certified Matwork teacher with BODY CONTROL PILATES in London. I chose Body Control Pilates because of their extensive training, both practical and theoretical.
Look them up, www.bodycontrolpilates.com. Combine Pilates with nutritional advice and the outcome is my perfect job.
My aim is to help everyone find a new level of movement and awareness. Whatever your goal, it is possible to move towards it with consistent effort. Getting up off the floor un-aided, rehabilitation, alleviating pain or running a marathon, Pilates can help build a stronger body with which to live your life or achieve your goals.
And let's not forget that so many of us seek more 'social' in our lives and sometimes that can be difficult. Pilates offers you a place to be active and meet like-minded people at the same time. I have met some truly amazing people in the Pilates community.
Classes are light-hearted but with the focus on leaving the class moving and feeling better than when you started. After a term of sessions, you will start to notice a difference, but be patient because the real change comes with consistency.
'Paradise' for some is cycling through the countryside or skiing down a mountain, for others it's reading a good book or having a relaxing bath, but for me, it's on the mat!
There's much to learn about Pilates. So, take your time and look around for your perfect class and teacher.
Any questions, take a moment and drop me a line, I'd love to hear from you.
